So what exactly IS Biblical life coaching?

Simply put, a life coach is an advisor who helps people make decisions, set and reach goals, or deal with problems.  Here at Simple Deep Life, we are committed to coach women in ministry through a strong commitment to the foundation of Scripture and mutual submission to the work of the Holy Spirit.  Much of the "self-help" culture is all about finding the answers within ourselves, which is completely against the teaching of Scripture which tells us that

"The heart is deceitful above all things,
    and desperately sick;
    who can understand it?" Jeremiah 17:9-10

Biblical life coaching seeks to utilize helpful and productive principles of personal reflection and decision making while prayerfully searching Scripture as we allow the Holy Spirit to direct and transform our minds. We begin at point A (a decision, desired change, transition point, personal struggle, etc.) and look down the road to point B where we will orient ourselves in a coaching relationship and confidently walk forward understanding our identity in Christ.

Why is this heart work important for women in ministry?

Simply put, women in ministry are lacking the resources and spaces to dig in to personal change and often struggle greatly with the expectations and demands placed on them in their places.  Often we hear women in ministry saying things like, "My husband receives tons of support and ongoing training, I don't!"

Simple Deep Life seeks to bridge that gap between the beginning of ministry work and the longer road of living out the gifting, callings, and passions of women in ministry.  We create a place to be heard, pointed to Jesus, and reminded of the identity we've been given.

Why work with me?

I’ve been there.  I’ve felt the pressure of being a lay-person in ministry both in non-profits and church, a missionary on a foreign field, and now a church planter’s wife in the US.  I know what it’s like to try and juggle family, ministry, supporters, heart passions, and an incredibly busy schedule.  I’ve learned how to go from my husband doing a 9-5, working from home, owning a business, and now being part-time pastor and part-time construction worker.  I’ve homeschooled, taught other people’s kids, sent my kids to private school, and now am embarking on public cyber school.  I get it.  It’s tough.

I firmly believe that the Lord created us to be in community with one another.  I see coaching as an excellent opportunity to have accountability in an area of your life that is perhaps difficult to communicate and share with those closest to you. You don't have to do this alone!  I am ready to join you for a time in your journey.
